Pumpkin Patch

Today our playgroup went to a pumpkin patch and let the kids roam around. Addyson loved picking up all the different types of pumpkins. I never knew there were so many varieties of pumpkins.

A first for her & a first for me.

That's right! Yesterday was Addyson's first day at Mother's Day Out!!

Right before leaving for MDO I realized that this was the very first of Addyson's 1st day of school experiences. Now, I realize she may not remember yesterday but she will have pictures that captured (or attempted to capture) the moment. When my brother and I were kids, our mom got these big blank gift bags to put all our school supplies inside. Before school started we would color the bags and write what grade we were going into. For your viewing pleasure I have included a few pictures of myself starting 1st & 2nd grade. Enjoy!

I'm pretty sure I was more nervous about MDO than Addyson. I wasn't concerned how she would do, just that nervous-excited-first-day-of-school feeling. I loved the first day of school, new beginnings, new school supplies, new clothes, new experiences. As for Addyson, she seems to really love school too. She couldn't wait to get into the classroom and her teacher said she did really great. Here are my attempts to capture the experience.

It was more than just a party for me.

This last weekend we hosted a baby shower for some friends. I had a blast planning and preparing for the party. Through it all I realized how much I miss the sense of accomplishment that I get after completing a project. I love being a stay at home mom and I'm learning to see the little accomplishments she and I make every day. Like the sweet spirit that is developing inside her or the small ways she is learning to obey. I love this job of being her mom and I wouldn't trade it for anything!! Okay, on to the party pictures.

Can I blame it on summer?

I would like to blame my lack of blogging on the summer, but I can't. I often forget and when I do remember I'm chasing Addyson. So here we are 6 months later...and this is what you've missed.

A Trip to Boerne...

We went to a Easter egg hunt with some friends...

spent some time with Gramma Di & cousin Stratton...

and...Addyson turned 1!!!!

We took a family vacation to visit our friends in Sheffield, England. This was Addyson's 1st plane ride and she did AMAZING!!

While we were there we got to introduce Addyson to ASK, our favorite date night spot!

When we lived in England, Greg spent most days playing basketball with these guys. It was so great to watch him playing again!

And we also spent a lot of time with Kelley, Kristy, and Hannah.

Lastly, we spent some time in London.

The McGinnis' came to Waco and Addyson had so much fun playing with Maddie & Aiden.
